Special Meeting Minutes
November 2nd, 2015
The Board of Selectmen held a Special Meeting at 3:00 pm on November 2nd, 2015 in the Meeting Hall of the Old Lyme Memorial Town Hall. First Selectwoman Bonnie Reemsnyder, Selectwoman Mary Jo Nosal and Selectman Skip Sibley were present. Finance Director Nicole Stajduhar was also present.
- Draft Financial Policies – Review with Nicole Stajduhar
The draft Financial Policies, most recently updated in October, 2015, were reviewed by the Selectmen with the guidance of Finance Director, Nicole Stajduhar. There were several corrections that were grammatical in nature only. In addition, there was discussion about some of the terminology (i.e. ‘pay as you go’ vs. ‘pay as you use’), and suggestions were made for clarity of statements. There were many details of the draft that were discussed for assurance that the proper Board, Dept. or Individual was noted properly.
Finance Director Nicole Stajduhar said that she would make the suggested changes to the document and all agreed it would be prudent to meet one more time to do a final review prior to approval. It was also agreed that it was essential to share the document with the Board of Finance for their review and input before being approved by the Board of Selectmen. The Selectmen thanked Ms. Stajduhar for her hard work on the document and for taking the time to meet with the Selectmen to update the document.
Selectwoman Nosal made a motion to adjourn at 5:08 pm. Selectman Sibley seconded. So voted.
